Learn with Lucro
Plain answers to the questions people actually ask.
Not opinion pieces. Explanations. Each guide answers one question in language you can repeat to your partner over dinner, written by the advisers who do this work and dated so you know how current it is.
Where to start
Four areas, because those are the four places most of the questions come from. Pick the one that sounds like your situation.
Retirement
What a pension actually is, what happens to it when you die, whether you have enough, and the questions worth asking before you stop working.
Mortgages
How lenders read your income, what changes when you own a company, fixing against tracking, and what a broker does that a comparison site cannot.
Protection
The part nobody enjoys reading about. What each type of cover is for, what it costs, what it does not pay out for, and how to work out what you need.
Business owners
Taking money out of a company, pensions as a business decision, what happens to the business if you are ill, and the things accountants and advisers each assume the other has covered.
How this is different from Insights
Insights is opinion. It is dated, it carries a name, and it argues a position. It ages, and that is fine, because a view about this year's market should age.
Learn is explanation. It carries a last reviewed date rather than a published date, because we go back and update it. If something here is wrong or out of date, that is our problem to fix rather than yours to spot.
A note on what this is not
Everything here is general information. It is not advice, and it cannot be, because advice depends on your circumstances and we do not know them yet. If you want to know what any of it means for you specifically, that is a conversation rather than an article.
Everything else we have written
Three ways in, depending on what you came for.
Guides
The explanations above. Evergreen, maintained, and carrying a reviewed date rather than a published one. Start here if you want to understand how something works.
Insights
Opinion rather than explanation. Dated, signed by the adviser who wrote it, and arguing a position. Start here if you want to know what we actually think.
Questions
The things people ask us before they pick up the phone. What we do, whether our advice is restricted, who we are for, and what the first meeting costs.
